Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 15, 2026
Blu Star Software ("Blu Star") is a product of Collabetive Services, LLC ("Collabetive", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, the Blu Star customer portal, and the notification services we operate — and what we do with it.
Blu Star is used by pest control and field service companies to run their businesses. That means information in our systems falls into two categories, and your rights depend on which one applies.
• Information we are responsible for. What you give us directly — by using this website, contacting us, or working for a company that licenses our software. We decide how this information is used, and this policy describes it.
• Information a client company is responsible for. If you are a customer of a pest control or field service company that uses Blu Star, your records live in that company's account. That company decides what is collected and how it is used. We hold and process it on their instruction, under our agreement with them. This policy tells you what we do with it as a processor, but requests to see, correct, or delete your records should go to the company that serves you. We will help them respond.
If you are not sure which applies to you, contact us and we will tell you.
When you use this website. Your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and the dates and times of your visits. If you fill in a form, whatever you enter — typically name, company, email address and phone number.
When you use the customer portal. Your name, email address, phone number, service address, account and service history, appointment details, invoices and payment status, and the notification preferences you have set — including whether you have consented to text messages.
When you receive notifications from us. Your mobile number or email address, the messages sent to you, delivery results, and a record of your consent and of any opt-out.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for or store government identification numbers on this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children — see section 10.
To provide and operate the software and the customer portal; to send the service notifications you or your service provider have arranged; to answer enquiries and provide support; to secure our systems and investigate misuse; to meet legal and tax obligations; and to understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Notifications are sent on behalf of the service company you do business with — they are the sender, and the message identifies them. Each service company sends from its own number.
Consent is required before any text message is sent, is never a condition of purchase, and is recorded against your account along with the date and the method by which it was given. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to any message or by turning text messages off in your customer portal. Withdrawing consent stops text messages only; it does not affect your service or stop email and phone contact about your account.
Full details of the messages, consent methods, and opt-out keywords are in our SMS Opt-In Policy (blustarsoftware.com/opt-in).
Message content is generated from templates using your own account details. It is not written by artificial intelligence — see section 6.
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings; parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Where we use analytics, it is for measurement only. We do not use it to build advertising audiences and we do not use it to follow you across other websites.
Some features of our software use artificial intelligence to summarize and surface information that is already held in an account — for example, producing a short summary of a customer record, or a briefing for a technician ahead of a service visit.
What we use it for. Only to produce the result the feature exists to produce, and to operate, support and improve that feature. We do not use it to build a profile of you, to make decisions about you, or for advertising.
Who it is disclosed to. Providing these features means sending the relevant information outside our own systems to third-party artificial-intelligence service providers, who process it on our behalf and under contract. This may include contact details, service history, appointment details, account notes and account status. Where an AI feature includes a chat, the conversation may be retained so the feature works across sessions and so we can support and improve it.
What those providers may not do. They may use what we send only to perform the function we have engaged them for. They may not use it for their own purposes, and they may not use it to train their own general-purpose artificial-intelligence models. We do not sell your information.
AI-generated summaries are assistive only. Your records remain the source of truth, and we do not use artificial intelligence to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.
Text message, email and phone notifications are generated from templates — they are not written by artificial intelligence.
Website enquiry records are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Account and service records are kept for as long as the client company's account is active, and afterwards as that company's agreement with us and our legal obligations require. Notification and consent records are kept as long as needed to show that consent was given and honored. AI chat history is kept while the feature is in use and for a period afterwards to support and improve it.
When a client company's agreement ends, its data is handled as that agreement provides.
• The service company you do business with, whose account your records belong to.
• Service providers who work on our behalf — hosting, messaging and telecommunications carriers, payment processing, email delivery, error monitoring, and the artificial-intelligence service providers described in section 6. Each is engaged under written terms, may use the information only to perform the function we have engaged them for, and may not use it for their own purposes. This is a disclosure of your information outside our systems, and section 6 describes what is sent for the AI features specifically.
• Where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights, property or safety of any person.
• In a business transfer — if Collabetive is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of it, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricting access to staff who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Blu Star is a business system and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
You can turn text messages off at any time (section 4), change your notification preferences in the customer portal, and refuse cookies through your browser.
To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, write to sales@thecollabetive.com. If your records belong to a service company's account — see section 1 — ask that company directly, since they decide what happens to their data. Tell us anyway if you are having difficulty, and we will help them respond.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We will honor those rights where they apply and will not treat you differently for exercising them.
This website links to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
